Bumble Bee Jasper Beads

Buzz buzz! With banding and color similar to bumblebees, it is easy to see where bumblebee jasper gets its moniker. Striking banded and orbicular patterns are common on this stone. Found only on volcanic Mount Papandayan in Indonesia, this stone is relatively rare and has only been on the gemstone market since the 1990’s.

Bumblebee jasper is a trade name and is actually a form of calcite. Orange and yellow coloration is due to realgar and sulfur inclusions, calcium causes white tones, and pyrite creates dark black hue.

Bumblebee jasper is said to help wearers maintain positivity and steer clear of negative energies.
