Honey Stone Beads

Honey stone was first discovered in Germany in 1789. Our Honey Stone gemstone beads are a warm, cheery golden yellow color. They might be named for honey, but these beads remind us of daisies!

Honey Stone, another name for the mineral Mellite, is unusual because it is also an organic chemical. It is an aluminum mellitate hydrate. Honey Stone can be found in eastern and southern Europe. Special care should be taken with this stone, as it is quite soft.
