Ruby Zoisite is also known as Anyolite. Anyolite gets its name from the Maasai word “anyoli” meaning green. Zoisite is named for Austrian naturalist Sigmund Zois von Edelstein.

Ruby Zoisite is a calcium aluminum silicate with corundum (ruby) inclusions. It may also exhibit black or dark inclusions of pargasite. Ruby Zoisite is found exclusively in Kenya and Tanzania.
