Vesuvianite Beads

Vesuvianite derives its name from the famous Mount Vesuvius in Italy, where the stone was first given scientific classification. This is the only gemstone we can think of named after a volcano! Vesuvianite is also known as Idocrase, and has been utilized as a jade substitute.

Vesuvianite is a sorosilicate mineral. It can be brown, blue, green, or yellow in color depending on mineral inclusions. Many named varieties of Vesuvianite exist.

Vesuvianite is said to help provide emotional clarity. It is associated with the heart chakra.
