As soon as I saw Heather's bracelet focals at the Bead and Button show I wanted to make a wrap bracelet. I wanted to use either leather or ribbon for the wrapping. When I saw Hawaiian Rainbow in the silk ribbon everything fell into place. Gaea's ceramic mermaid gem geode, with The BeadsNest lampwork blue rondelle make this bracelet feel like a bouquet on my wrist.
The holes in the Humble Beads Polymer Clay Magenta Dandelion Link are too small for the ribbon to go through so I placed a 7.25mm Vintaj Arte Metal Jump Ring in each hole. I then strung the ribbon on the backside of the polymer clay link, making sure that it was center on the ribbon, then I knotted the ribbon onto the jump ring.
You want to place knots along the ribbon if you are stringing beads on to help keep them in place and to add visual interest without added cost. Before placing knots, string on your beads in the vicinity you want them in. Wrap the bracelet around your wrist to figure out where to place your knots. Begin knotting from the center of your bracelet out. After every couple knots, re-wrap your bracelet so that you can adjust your bead placement and figure out where to place the next knots. Doing this will save you a lot of unknotting :-) You can see in this image where I ended up placing my knots.
