A Good Day Necklace

Our daughter Payton used to make us read this book called "A Good Day." It is a series of events that occur in different parts of this little girl's yard and woods. The moral is "if you have lemons, make lemonade." Anyways, all of these components make me happy and act as a reminder to look on the brighter side :-)

Supplies you’ll need:

2 2' lengths of 10# variegated hemp
4 8" lengths of 10# variegated hemp
5 2-packs of glass teardrops (2colors, 2colors, 1color)
2 ceramic organic rounds
4 sterling silver seeds
1 sterling silver leaf charm
1 sterling silver twig link
4 sterling silver rings
4 8" lengths of silk ribbon
1 sterling silver clasp
handful of tiny beads

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

First I strung all of the drops onto the branch using overhand knots on hemp.

Step 2

Secure the branch to the ring using 2 6" lengths of ribbon at each end. Make bows, then knot and dab with glue. Once secure, cut the bows up to look like tattered leaves on a tree. Then, wrap the hemp around the ring 3 times securing with an over hand knot and a dab of glue.

Step 3

To attach the teardrop(s) to the necklace, string the hemp through the teardrop and tie a knot at the top.
To attach the ceramic rounds to the necklace, string the hemp through the bead, then once you have the bead placed, bring the hemp back over the bead and through again.
