Why should bracelets get all the fun of stringing on leather? As soon as I saw the large hole African turquoise and crazy lace agate I was hooked. The rose quartz is a summery complement to the other 2 stones that would go equally well with a darker palette.
Gather your supplies.
Lay out your 4 main necklace strands. The other 2 are lighter with just a few beads and knots on each strand.
Gather your strands of leather together side by side. Slide the 6x17mm deco slide over the strands. At 16" from the end, gently press on the slide to crimp down on the leather. Taking the 16" side of the leather strands, pair up the cord and begin a flat braid.
Once the braiding is complete, make an overhand knot at end of braid. Then knot at the end of each strand, giving a tassel like appearance.
On the side of leather that's not braided, string the beads onto the appropriate cords, knotting every now and then along strands. Make each strand length approx 1" from inside to outside strands.
Again, pair up your strung leather cord and knot off each pair.
Create a closure loop at one end of each pair using an overhand knot.
Wrap ribbon around the combined loops.
This is how my closure looks when secured.
Wrap the ribbon around crimp, being careful not to completely cover it.
Embellish the leather cord strands with bits of knotted ribbon.
