Dads Key Fob

Supplies you’ll need:

Scissors, brush on super glue, tweezers, cotton swabs, UV resin, UV lamp or sunlight, tape, round file, hammer, leather hole punch, bench block, chain or flat nose pliers (2). Optional: 3.5mm metal hole punch, 6mm TierraCast® Rivet Setter, 7/16” square paper punch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Use round file or metal hole punch to enlarge Strap Tips holes to fit 6mm rivet cap. Set aside.

Step 2

Print image 7/16” square, then smooth tape over image on front and back. Cut or punch out.

Step 3

Brush light coat of super glue inside Frame Slide, making sure to get glue into edges and corners.

Step 4

Use tweezers to place image into frame. Use cotton swab to smooth down securely. Allow to dry.

Step 5

Apply UV resin to desired depth. Use tweezers to pop or scoop out any bubbles.

Step 6

Place frame into UV lamp or sunlight and allow to cure 10-15 min. or per product instructions.

Step 7

Cut one 2 1⁄4” piece leather strap. Thread one end through top of Frame Slide and fold over in back about 3⁄4”. (Fig 1)

Step 8

Use leather hole punch to make 3mm hole through both layers 1⁄2” from fold. Insert rivet post through holes from back. Cover with rivet cap on top. Place rivet setter over cap (optional) and hammer until secure.

Step 9

Make 3mm hole 1⁄4” from other end. Place one rivet post up through hole from bottom, place Strap Tip onto post, then cover with rivet cap. Repeat setting process.

Step 10

Repeat Steps 7-9 at other end of slide.

Step 11

Use one jumpring to attach key ring at bottom of fob and one to attach lobster clasp at top.

Step 12

Use remaining jumprings to attach charms at top as desired.
