To make these cute felt ball pumpkins, you just need a needle & thread! To make this wreath, I sewed the pumpkins together, and then sewed them onto the wreath.
The products used in this project are listed below.
Start by making all of your pumpkins. Thread a needle with about 18" of thread (this will probably be more than you need, I just like to make sure I have enough thread). Stick the needle all the way through the felt ball.
Pull the needle all the way through the ball-making sure to leave a few inches of thread at the bottom. Bring the needle & thread around the felt ball and back up & through the same hole you started with.
Continue this all the way around the ball- try to space out the thread evenly- I ended up with 6-7 lines of thread. Also make sure you pull the thread tight each time.
Also make sure to keep the spots where the needle is entering & exiting the ball as close together as possible.
When you've finished sewing the lines, slide a gold rondelle onto the needle & thread, and bring the needle back down & through the ball.
Now there should be two strands of thread hanging from the bottom of the ball. Tie a double knot & trim the excess thread.
Repeat these steps until you have enough pumpkins. For the wreath, I made 7 large orange pumpkins, 6 medium orange pumpkins, 7 small cream pumpkins, and 2 medium ochre-colored pumpkins.
Sew the pumpkins together in whichever order you choose.
Lay out the order you want the pumpkins in.
Using the dark green thread, sew the pumpkins to the wreath by knotting the thread through the bottom of the pumpkin and then wrapping it around the wreath-under the leaves.
For the wreath, I just made a circle with the wire...
and wrapped the fairy ribbon around it.
