I thought it was fitting to pair the natural walnut wood focal with hemp. This is a simple statement necklace for everyday wear. The half hitch spiral knot is a basic macrame knot. It's an easy knot to create, just follow my step-by-step instructions.

Supplies you’ll need:

You will need 1 walnut wood lotus focal, natural hemp, a lobster clasp, and 2 fold over cord ends. I showed two different clasps in step 1 image, but I think the fold over clasp will work best.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step

Step 1

I cut 45 inches of hemp and folded it in half. I added an overhand just below the loop. Clip the loop onto a clipboard to keep your cord taut. Cross the right working strand under the left.

Step 2

Take the right working strand up and over the left.

Step

Step 3

Then pull taut.

Step

Step 4

Repeat steps 1-3 until you are half way.

Step

Step 5

At the half way point string your lotus focal on, then continue your knotting technique until the end.

Step

Step 6

When you have reached the length you wanted attach your fold over clasp. I recommend using a touch of glue for added durability.
