For this design, I paired wood beads with recycled glass, African brass, and silk chiffon ribbon to create this chunky, layered necklace. This is one of my favorite color combos, and I love how the chiffon ribbon adds a delicate quality to the larger beads.
String a 34" piece of beading wire through the wood dagger focal. Next, slide on a gold wooden bead and an African recycled glass bead onto both strands.
Slide the beads onto the beading wire in the order shown in the picture. To finish, make a loop at both ends of the wire & secure with a crimp tube & cover. Attach a lobster clasp to one end with a jump ring.

For the silk chiffon necklace, I used a piece of ivory silk chiffon ribbon yarn approx. 50" long. Slide on the recycled glass & wooden beads in the order shown in the picture- making sure to tie a double knot on each side of the beads to keep them in place. To slide the beads on easily, use a collapsible beading needle. For the gold accents, I used pliers to open up the links of the rollo chain, and then I closed them around the ribbon. To finish the necklace, I tied a double knot at the end (the necklace is long enough to fit overhead). Secure the knot with a drop of glue, and then tie a bow. Trim off any excess ribbon.
