This iridescent shell focal has natural holes down the front that were just calling for embellishment. The cord adds a colorful detail and give the shell a finished look.

Supplies you’ll need:

You will need:

  • Linhasita PE-4 cord in 2 colors - you could try the PE-1 to get more tassel tails
  • 1 white abalone shell focal
  • 2 ft of ocean mix stainless chain
  • 6/0 seed beads (starlight)
  • coconut shell beads
  • 2 jump rings
  • 1 lobster clasp

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Cut four 6" pieces of cord, tie them together with a knot at one end. Feed the ends up and over the top hole of the shell. The knot should be on the back side of the shell. Keep going up and over the rest of the holes.

Step 2

To embellish the cord tails, cut a few of the bead links off the chain, be sure there are loops at both ends of the links. Slide the cord down through the top loop and up through the bottom of the bead link. Slide on coconut and seed bead, then knot the cord. Do this on each tail.

Step 3

Measure to see how long you want your necklace to be. Use a jump ring to attach your chain. Attach your clasp using a jump ring.
