Dress up your neck with this sparkling bow necklace. This design is perfect for an elegant evening or to add a little glam to a t-shirt and jeans.
Cut 2.5' of cord. String on 15 sapphire beads one heart bead and 15 more sapphire beads. make sure the beads are in the center of the cord. Follow the images to make the bow. - Image 1: Sting on the beads as shown in the center of the cord. - Image 2, 3, 4: Take one cord tail and feed it through the heart bead, do both tails. They should be criss-crossed through the heart bead. - Image 5 Sting on the bow tail beads. - Image 6: Feeed the bow tail back up through the sapphire rounds, skipping the silver bead. - Image 7: Bring bow tail up through the heart bead so it is at the top to form your necklace. - Image 8: Do the same as images 5-7
For the necklace part, I strung on 15 sapphire beads and 1 faceted silver round. Keep doing this pattern until your necklace is at its desired length. My necklace is about 18" total length.
To finish, feed the cord through a crimp tube and through the first hole of the wire protector (optional). Place the wire protector or just the cord over a soldered jump ring. Pull the cord back down over the jump ring and through the protector and crimp tube.
Crimp the tube and close the crimp cover with pliers. Trim off any excess cord. Note, I like to use a little dot of glue on top of my crimp tube just before I crimp on the cover. Attach the clasp and any extra bead embellishments.
