I wanted to add woven fringe earrings to my repertoire, so here they are! For my first time I picked a simple pattern that used 4 colors. Of course you could add more colors and make this your own. Once you get the beginning down it's so fun to do, add this design to your repertoire. I will be making more of these. The total length of these earrings are 2.5"

Supplies you’ll need:

  • 4 colors of 11/0 Delica seed beads
  • TOHO One-G thread
  • Needle size 10
  • open teardrop charms
  • hinged ear wires

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step

Step 1

Follow the pattern I provided above. Cut about 3' of thread. Tie the cord onto the teardrop with an overhand knot. Make sure to leave a 3 - 4 inch tail off the knot, we will use it later. Thread the needle onto the long cord tail. Follow the images to start brick stitching on the first row of beads. To begin, pick up the first 2 beads in the pattern. They will rest on the edge of the teardrop as shown in the 2nd frame. Pass your needle through the center of the teardrop as shown in the 3rd frame. Now pass your needle up through the bottom of the second delica added as shown in the 4th frame. For the rest of your brick stitch you’ll pick up one bead at a time. Pick up the 3rd delica in the pattern with your needle and pass your needle through the center of the teardrop as shown in the 5th frame. The 3rd delica is now resting on the teardrop frame. Pass your needle through the bottom of the 3rd delica as shown in the 6th frame. Continue the brick stitch until all 7 beads are on the frame.

Step

Step 2

Once you have finished your first row across the teardrop. Start the fringe, follow the images for the fringe.

Step

Step 3

This is what it should look like.

Step

Step 4

Take the needle half way down through the second in fringe row. Loop the cord around and through the loop to knot. Feed the remaining cord down through the beads and trim.

Step

Step 5

To finish, Feed the needle onto the remaining short tail. Feed he needle half way down the last fringe. Loop the cord around and through to knot. Feed the remaining cord down through the beads and trim.
