Use the snowflake frames for more than one season. This delicate spider web is woven with shimmery Linhasita black light cord so it will have an eerie glow. The seed beads glow in the dark, so this web will have some glow or shimmer no matter what light it's in.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • Linhasita PE-4 black light cord
  • snowflake frames 6"
  • needle
  • black thread
  • Czech glass jet fire polished rounds
  • Toho 8/0 glow in the dark seed beads
  • super glue

Tools: scissors and a lighter

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step

Step 1

Cut one 12' piece of cord. Tie it onto the center of the snowflake frame with an overhand knot. Trim the cord and slightly burn the knot with a lighter to seal the knot. You shouldn't, but if you need extra cord towards the end just tie two pieces or cord together and burn the knot. You can always hide the knot with a spider.

Step

Step 2

Start weaving the cord. Take the cord over and around the first snowflake arm. Then bring the cord under and around the next. Keep going all the way around each snowflake arm. I went around a few times then started add on my seed beads.

Step

Step 3

Slide a seed bead onto your cord, it should rest in between snowflake arms. Keep weaving and add more seed beads randomly. I mostky added them in between every other arm and every other woven layer.

Step

Step 4

Make the web as big as you want. Knot the cord off onto the snowflake arm where you ended. Burn the knot with alight to seal. I used a dot of super glue to keep it in place.

Step

Step 5

Slide seed beads onto one arm at a time. Glue on the last two seed beads to finish the ends or you could glue on finials.

Step

Step 6

Leave a could of seed beads off one arm so you can create a hanging loop. Use good pliers these frames are made of stainless steel.

Step

Step 7

Cut a 2' of thread, feed it onto a needle. Pick where you would like to place a spider. tie the thread onto the cord with a knot. Slide a jet bead onto the thread. Go through the bead and over the cord enough to create 4 legs on each side. Knot the thread on the back side to finish. You can use a dot of super glue to secure the knot. Stitch on as many spiders as you would like. I only did one for an example. Hang and enjoy.
