Celebrate the holidays with these lovely layers of gold that display a celebration of shimmer!
You will need scissors and a lighter.
Cut twelve 5" pieces of cord. Also cut two 10" pieces of cord. Wrap the 10" cord around the tail ends of the 5" strands twice as shown and knot. You will want the knot on the backside. Lightly burn the knot with a lighter to seal the cord. You now have two tails hanging out to the side. Tie the other end together the same way.
Note, this image shows different color cord. Use a lighter to burn and seal the ends of the 5" pieces you tied together.
This is is from another design so the colors are different, but it shows the correct twisting technique. Tape down the end of the bracelet. Grab the two cords on one end, twist them both tightly in the same direction. Then start twisting them together in the opposite direction until you have about 3" of twisted cord. Knot at the end. Lightly burn the knots to seal the cord. Do the same to the other cord ends.
I used a new style of an adjustable knot that is less bulky. On the right take the cord up and over to create a loop. The cord should end up n front. Then bring the cord tail through the loop. Tighten the knot a little bit, not all the way. Follow the image to do the right side.
Take the right cord tail behind and through the loop on the left side, as shown in the first image. bring the left tail over to the right loop as shown in the image. Pull the knots tight.
Make sure the knot opens and closes.
For the gold elastic bracelets, loop the elastic cord around your wrist 3 times and cut. Slide the beads on, slide the charm on wherever you would like it.
Knot the elastic bracelet as shown. Wrap the right cord around the left twice and pull to tighten a little. Take the left cord and wrap it around the right cord twice. Place a knotting tool or small screwdriver in the middle of the twisted cords. Pull the cord ends to tighten the bracelet. Once you have pulled the cord closed, pull out the tool and tighten the rest of the way. Add a dot of glue to the knot. Slide a bead over to hide the knot.
