This chunky holiday garland is so satisfying to make; the soft baubles are delightful and fluffy and the beads in between add twinkle in the light. Best of all, you build the garland one bauble at a time, AND you don’t have to pre-string the beads onto the yarn, so you can easily customize the length as you go or until you run out of beads!
For this project, you will need to choose a soft yarn of medium weight (worsted weight or thicker) and large-hole beads in colors that suit your desired theme. For your tools, you’ll need a crochet hook that suits your yarn thickness. (If this hook does not fit through the hole of your beads, then you will need a second hook that does fit, for adding a bead between baubles.) Usually, a thicker yarn needs a thicker crochet hook; thinner yarn needs a smaller crochet hook. Make a few practice chains and baubles before you commit to the full garland.
