I wanted to try this scaling technique with the gingko beads. This is a beginner bead-weaving design has many steps but they are all simple to perform. The total length of this bracelet is 7.5 inches.
Cut 2 1/2 arm lengths of thread. Thread the needle. Around the middle of the thread slide on a stopper bead, bring the thread over and through so the bead will be slidable. Slide on a gingko bead as shown.
Slide on 40 gingko beads in total. The beads will start to flip and spoon into each other.
This part is creating a third row of gingkos. Image 2: Slide on 4 11/0 seed beads and bring the needle down through the top of the gingko bead. Image 3: Slide on another ginko bead through the top facing the same way as the others. Image 4: Slide the needle through the top of the next strung gingko bead. Image 5 & 6: Keep string on another row of gingko beads for the entire bracelet length.
This step will have you start to add the fire polished rounds in between the gingkos outer trim. Image1: Slide on 4 11/0 seed beads. Bring the needle down the top of the last gingko and pull tight (Image 2). Image 3: Slide a 4mm fire polished round on. Image4: Bring the needle down throught the next gingko bead. Continue until you get to the end.
Once you finish adding on the fire polsihed rounds on one side, slide on four 11/0 seed beads (Image 1). Image 2: Bring the needle through the three seed beads in the middle. Image 3: Slide on four more 11/0 seed beads. Image 4: Bring the needl down through the top of the first gingko bead. Image 5: Now you can start adding on your fire polished rounds just like you did on the other side.
Image 1: Move the stopper bead out of the way. Image 2" Slide on 4 11/0 seed beads. Bring the need down through the top inside whole of the first gingko bead (Image 2). Image 3: Bring the needle down through the center gingko bead. Image 4 is just an extra image. Image 5: Bring the needle up through the inside hole of the outer gingko bead. Image 6: Bring the needle up through the first two 11/0 seed beads. Image 7: Slide on five 11/0 seed beads, bring the needle through the toggle bar loop. Image 8: Bring the needle down through the first seed bead. Image 9: String on four more seed beads. Image 10: Bring the needle down through the two seed beads creating the loop. Image 11: Bring the needle back up the two seed beads creating the other loop. I went around the seed beads and toggle bar two or three times for a strong structure. Just make sure the thread ends up on the sides so we can weave it back down through the gingkos.
For this step we will be weave our thread back through the gingkos and making knots. Image 2: Bring the needle through the fire polished bead and through the next gingko bead. Image 3: Slide the needle under the thread bewteen the beads. Image 4: Wrap the thread around the needle and pull tight to create a knot. Image 5: Bring the needle through the next gingko and create another knot the same way. Go through one more gingko and create another knot. Bring the thread through a couple more beads with out knotting and trim off what is left.
Take an 8" piece of thread. Thread it onto your needle. Image 1: Take your needle about 0.75" down from the end and slide it under connecting thread between two gingko beads (like we did when making knots). Image 2: Wrap the thread around the needl and pull tight. You should have a short tail sticking out. Image 4: Keep heading towards the toggle end, keep creating knots in between ginkgo beads straight up the middle as shown in images 5-8. We will be using this thread to attach the toggle. Be sure to bring the thread up through the middle gingko.
Image 1: Slide the needle through the middle three seed beads. Image 2: Slide on 4 seed beads and bring the needle through the toggle loop. Image 3: Bring the thread back down through two of the seed beads. Image 4: Bring the thread back through the middle three seed beads where we started. Image 5: Bring the needle down through the rest of the seed beads on the side and down through a gingko bead. Step 6: Start bringing your thread back down through the ginko beads and making knots. I create three knots.
When you are done making knots, bring the thread through a couple more beads and trim. Cut off the short piece that was sticking out from Step 8. This is what the finished piece should looke like.
